Covid-19 couldn't stop this year's 4th annual Ross Datathon! Despite the virtual event, we had 170 participants analyze P2P lending platforms. Our students and participants faced unique challenges in a virtual environment that had many teams connect via online platforms for the first time.

The 2021 FinTech Challenge allows students to develop and pitch an innovative solution combining finance and technology to solve a modern business problem with potential for positive social impact. With the 2021 Fintech Challenge theme being small businesses students are presented with the unique opportunity to play a significant role in solving a local business' most critical problem.

This year's Michigan Ross FinTech Challenge is to build a cryptocurrency based solution. Through this immersive experience, students will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with students across the School of Information, Ross, and Engineering. Students will have the opportunity to increased understanding of fintech entrepreneurship, cryptocurrency and technology through action-based learning.

Our 2nd annual Ross Datathon was a huge success, giving students real-world data driven problems towards the Flint water crisis and assessed their ability to use Big Data and make presentable findings towards our judging panel.
